Internship Opportunity with African Evangelistic Enterprise

African Evangelistic Enterprise (AEE) Uganda is a Christian, evangelical, international, inter-racial, inter-
denominational, non-political non-governmental organisation established in 1971.
About Program: This project seeks to improve wellbeing of children (first 1000 days of life), adolescents
(10-19years) and Youth (13-25years) by 2022. The focus of this project is on improving access of youth
and adolescents to friendly sexual reproductive health information and services, increase access to
general healthcare through community health financing, skilling and equipping youth to take up jobs
and business opportunities. The program also aims at availing youth with platforms to ably engage each
other and the duty bearers to have their voices heard and actions taken to improve their wellbeing.
In partnership with Light for the World, through the Make 12.4% Work Initiative, we are seeking to
recruit a Social Worker-Intern based in Kampala. In our continued effort on Disability Inclusion, this
position has been purposefully selected and carved for an individual with a disability.

Position: Intern- Social Worker (Kampala)

Primary Responsibility: Support in effectively engaging youth and adolescents to access friendly
services.

General position requirements
Must be a youth who has effectively engaged with adolescents and young people.

Reporting to: Program Officer-SLAY Projects.

Location: Milne Medical Centre in Lubiya, Rubaga Division on Masanafu road, Kampala.

Specific Responsibilities
1. Mobilize youth and adolescents to participate in program activities
2. Provide guidance and counseling to adolescents and youth on Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH)
3. Impart life skills to youth and adolescents
4. Support team in providing friendly services to adolescents and youths
5. Undertake follow up of children in program area
6. Prepare and share activity reports as and when required.

Requirements
i. Bachelor’s Degree in humanitarian studies. Experience in health related programs, work with
young people is added advantage
ii. Must have excellent writing and editing skills.
iii. Strong time-management skills.

iv. Must exercise strict adherence to AEE Christian values and be willing to lead in morning
devotion
