Internship opportunity with African Evangelistic Enterprise

African Evangelistic Enterprise (AEE) Uganda is a Christian, evangelical, international, inter-racial, inter-denominational, non-political non-governmental organisation established in 1971.

About Program: With support from REK partner AEE-U is implementing a Child Centred Community Development programme in Arivu, Arua. Our offices are 21 km before reaching Arua on Kampala highway.

Arivu program overall goal is Improved Quality of life and opportunities for Children and other Vulnerable groups in 1500 households in Arivu Sub county, Arua District by 2021. The theory of change for this program proposes three major pathways of change. These include, Quality Education for Children, Community Participation & Empowerment and Sustainable Incomes for Households.
In partnership with Light for the World, through the Make 12.4% Work Initiative, we are seeking to recruit a Social Worker-Intern based at our Arua Office. In our continued effort on Disability Inclusion, this position has been purposefully selected and carved for an individual with a disability.

Position: Intern- Social Worker, Arivu, Arua District.

Primary Responsibility: Support in mobilisation, community engagement and monitoring of quality education and community empowerment programs.

General position requirements
She/He must have good community engagement, ability to work with local structures and groups and flexible to work in rural communities.

Reporting to: Program Assistant, Quality Education.

Specific Responsibilities
1. Mobilize community to participate in program activities
2. Implement program activities with the support of child and community facilitators
3. Engage and work with children’s groups both in school and community
4. Be in position to provide counselling and guidance to children and women.
5. Specifically support the inclusion efforts with in the program
6. Report monthly and feedback to community
7. Support training of children and women on topical issues and models pre developed in the
organisation

Requirements

i. Bachelor’s Degree in humanitarian studies.
ii. Must have excellent writing and editing skills.
iii. Strong time-management skills.
iv. Must be willing to lead in morning devotions
