ICCO Cooperation

ICCO Cooperation is a global, non-governmental organization. They work in different areas around the world, including Uganda. Their aim is to work towards a world in which people can live in dignity and well-being, a world without poverty and injustice.

ICCO is a role model in Kampala for having an accessible office. In terms of building alone, they have adapted this to be able to accommodate people with disabilities in their office. Further, a selection of their staff has received training in sign language.

ICCO is also the lead in a consortium with the name Strategic Partnership Convening and Convincing (SPCC). The SPCC programme is a 5 year long programme that started in 2016

For Uganda, seven partners have been identified (National NGO Forum; Share An Opportunity (SAO, Abim), Facilitation For Peace and Development (FAPAD, Lira), Advance Africa (Lira), Pentecostal Assembly of God (PAG, Soroti), TEDDO (under COU Soroti), Arid Land Development Program (ADP, Abim). With support of Light for the World, ICCO ensures that the SPCC program is disability inclusive, which means for example that the 2018 plans and budgets of the partners include activities that ensure the rights of persons with disabilities are advocated for in line with the programs objectives.
