FINDING XY

Finding XY is a social enterprise that supports entrepreneurs by addressing their needs through different business approaches. Finding XY aims to mobilize and support eco-system builders that are passionate about business; design or implement programs that are relevant to challenges businesses face; and provide customized one-on-one services to clients. Through its programs, Finding XY has trained over 500 entrepreneurs, ninety percent of these in Uganda. Learn more about Finding XY here.

Finding XY joined the Make 12.4% Work Initiative as our 124th member in May 2020. In partnership with Mango Tree Uganda, Finding XY has since provided entrepreneurship training for our Disability Inclusion Facilitators through an online training course organized in April – May 2020.

We look forward to our future engagements and working together to multiply our impact!

MABAU

Mabau Inspired is a start-up with a difference, fusing their group of businesses with an ingrained commitment to giving back to the society and environment. Mabau is starting off with two core businesses; wines & spirits, and a café and lounge bar that will be located in Muyenga.

The Mabau Foundation – the non-profit wing of the social enterprise, has 12 programs that deliver against their social and environment commitments. Mabau also has a range of care social programs that work to support vulnerable individuals including people with disabilities, marginalized youth, single parents and other minorities.

Most notably; under its EmpowerU programme; Mabau aims at empowering vulnerable individuals with economic opportunities through supported employment pathways:

  1. TrainMe program; empowering barriers by supporting individuals to get their foot in the door through practical internships.
  2. EmployMe program; overcoming barriers by placing and supporting individuals into ongoing employment
  3. MyHustle program; enabling self-employment through skills training and start-up funding.

Mabau joined the Make 12.4% Work Initiative as our 126th member in August 2020. We are currently in the process of developing a stronger partnership to support and learn from each other’s efforts particularly around creating work opportunities for youth with disabilities.

We look forward to growth and a fruitful partnership!
